Every summer, the world's best triathletes arrive in Klagenfurt to compete in the renowned Ironman Austria. The event comprises a gruelling 3.8km swim, 180km cycling and 42.2km running. You can walk to the start, which is 3kms from the hotel at the lido. The popular Beach Volleyball Grand Slam takes place there too every July. The event attracts a great and enthusiastic audience with an appetite for partying which lasts a whole week. If you prefer less hustle and bustle with your sport, opt for the half marathon in August.
